Prof. Franklin Mosha

Franklin Mosha is a Professor of parasitology and medical entomology at KCMUCo band also the Moshi PAMVERC site project Investigator(PI) as well as Insecticide Test Facility Manager . During his 38 years of research career, he has been involved in malaria and filariasis vector control research and also malaria clinical trials in Tanzania (with NIMR, TPRI, KCMUCo), mosquito ecological studies in Kenya (with ICIPE) and also onchocersiasis vector control studies in Mali (with OCP-WHO). To date he has 112 publications in peer-review journals. Administratively, he has been the Director of The Tropical Pesticides Research Institute, Director of The Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute and Director for Research & Consultancies at KCMUCo. Dr.Johnson Matowo

Dr. Johnson Matowo is a Medical Entomologist and Senior Lecturer in Medical Parasitology and Entomology, based at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo) of the Tumaini University Makumira. His main research interest is the understanding of the Biochemical and Molecular Basis of Insecticide Resistance in Malaria Vectors. He primarily works on Anopheles gambiae s.l and Anopheles funestus, the major malaria vectors in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Johnson Matowo has published several papers in International peer-reviewed Journals including the papers that describe Biochemical and Genetic Basis of pyrethroid resistance in Anopheles arabiensis in north eastern Tanzania.   CV attachment


Robert Kaaya

Robert Diotrephes Kaaya Is a Research Scientist and Research Quality Assurance Manager atKilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo) under The Pan African Malaria Vector Research Consortium (PAMVERC)Moshi Tanzania. His expertise lies in molecular and immunological Laboratory techniques. He has been involved in phase three clinical trials in malaria and arbovirus research particularly in evaluating the effectiveness of novel and traditional insecticides in the of control malaria in rural Tanzania as well as understanding the magnitude of Dengue and Chikungunya virus infections in Tanzania.
He is a member of the malaria molecular epidemiology team which isworking on the surveillance of Plasmodium falciparum molecular markers for Sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine (SP) drug resistance in Tanzania. Robert has been involved in collaborations with scientists from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of Ottawa Canada, Centre for Medical Parasitology (CMP) Denmark and Building Stronger Universities (BSU).


Salum Azizi

Salum Azizi is a research scientist at the KCMUCo-PAMVERC where he has been a Project Manager since 2017. He is a PhD fellow at the KCMUCo, and has completed his MSc. at Witwatersrand University (South Africa) and his undergraduate studies at University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). His research interests lie in the area of malaria vector biology and control, ranging from theory to design to implementation of mosquito control tools. He has more than 12 years working experience on malaria research. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of medical entomology, particularly vector control and insecticide evaluation.

Salum has served on international conferences and workshops, insecticide evaluation procedure review and chairperson for PAMVERC training committees and served as the Nominated Representative for KCMUCo-PAMVERC to SANAS. He has published on malaria vector control, mosquito biology and quality control.


Jackline Martin

Jackline is Public health entomologist with seven years’ experience in vector control. Currently working with Pan African Malaria Research Consortium in evaluation of next generation bed nets distributed January 2019 in North West Tanzania. Furthermore, she is assessing the efficacy of these nets in experimental hut trials and the laboratory and the susceptibility and resistance intensity of wild and colony mosquitoes to different public health insecticides.
Previous experienced in longitudinal monitoring of Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS), quality control and study of mosquito behaviour using tracking system at National Institute for Medical Research, Mwanza center.
She obtained her MSc in medical entomology and parasitology from the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University college, before she had Bachelor degree in Biology obtained from the University of Dodoma. Jackline is a prospective PhD student in infectious disease department at LSHTM, expecting to start on September 2020.

He began his career 2010 since then he has participated in different Malaria control programs(--------------). He has experience on Field and laboratory entomology techniques for medical important mosquitoes.

He has a Bachelor degree in Biotechnology and Laboratory Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture(SUA). Currently Boniface serves as Project Manager,
He began his career 2017 since then he has participated in various research activities as Molecular Lab supervisor, his expertise lies in molecular and immunological Laboratory techniques which includes ELISA (Circumsporozoite ELISA and Blood Meal ELISA) Conventional PCR, Real-Time PCR, and Real-time qPCR for detection of elevation and expression level of CYPs Genes in Mosquitoes.

CPA(T) Lillian F. Mollel, is a project accountant, she has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance.
She began her carreer in research 2010, since then as a an organised, focused Accounting and Finance specialist brings 10 years plus of leadership, program management and technical experience in leading large-scale complex project in Accounting and Finance in both the public and private sectors in Tanzania.
Curently Lillian Mollel serves as Head of Account and finance department at KCMUCo-PAMVERC, also she was serving as Finance Assistant for United Nations Children Emergency (UNICEF) Tanzania based at Refugees program Sub officein Northwest Tanzania and Finance Intern with Rural Financial Services Programme (RFSP) an International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) funded project. Mrs Lillian F. Mollel is active member of National Board of Accountant and Auditors Tanzania (NBAA).

Naomi Lyimo is a Data Clerk in the Department of Information Technology and Data Management of the KCMUCo-PAMVERC Test Facility. She also serves as store keeper for the KCMUCo-PAMVERC. She obtained Diploma in Cooperative Management and Accounting from Moshi Cooperative University. She has been involved in different research activities since 2015 including monitoring, evaluation, quality control, data management and interpretation for different diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, cardiovascular and TB. Naomi Lyimo has been managing data using different databases including CTC2 database, DACC, Ms Excel and Ms Access. She plans to develop her career in research.

Amandus Joram Kassambili is a Supervisor of the Department of Information Technology and Data Management (ITDM) at KCMUCo – PAMVERC Project. He has very impressive background in IT and holds a Practical oriented Diploma in Information Technology from Tumaini University-SMMUCo. Currently Amandus serves as IT & Data Manager.
Amandus began his career in reasearch since 2020 as a Deputy IT and Data Manager at KCMUCo-PAMVERC Projects, since then He has participated in different research activities and publication with the project. He has extensive experience on Data Management ranging from logical & physical database design and creation using MySQL, ORACLE, Ms Access, OpenData Kit(ODK) and KoboToolBox Data Collector, Website Design and development using HTML, CSS, jQuery, wordPress Elementor, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator and FileZilla, Programming using Database (MySQL and ORACLE), PHP, JAVA & JAVASCRIPT, Python,jQuery and VP-EXPERT, Data Management and Analysis using different softwares including STATA and SPSS, He is a desingner and developer of KCMUCo-PAMVERC website and aslo He has designed a very intensive system that manage all research raw data forms(printing, return in and out) to ensure all record are preserved as required, also He has developed another intensive NACOPHA Data System for managing all data of peaple living with HIV/AIDS.
Overall Amandus is a IT Specialist, Technological innovator, Data Analyst, Programmer & Website designer and System analyst.
